Since Ad:Tech in San Francisco – where I spent the bulk of my time looking for great marketing solutions for small businesses – I’ve been spending some more time evaluating some of those solutions. One of the products I was looking for was a search engine marketing (SEM) tool to help manage multiple accounts across Google, Yahoo, and MSN (and others). Having a central tool to manage your pay per click (PPC) campaign is great in theory, but it’s a lofty goal to provide a useful layer on top of all those ad networks, so I’m a little skeptical of the offerings…but here’s what I’ve found so far.
Among the companies getting good buzz was Marin Software. Revenews gave them a good thumbs up earlier this year, too. But as you’ll read in that Revenews post, Marin is not exactly a ‘small business’ solution – at least not yet (they require a minimum of $50k/month in ad spend). So if you’re not quite at that level yet – here are a few SEM tools that might be worth evaluating:
