International Virtual Assistants and OutsourcingApparently I write enough about my experiences hiring virtual assistants and freelancers that this blog has started to attract readers who are researching virutal assistants (VA’s) themselves. So much so that I’ve started to receive requests from some of those readers, asking if I’m available to be their VA. Thanks for the offer. I appreciate the opportunity. But something has been lost in translation.

So, just in case I’ve confused anyone: I’m no virtual assistant – I just have a lot of experience interviewing, hiring, and managing outsourced talent (including VA’s). When I write about it, it’s just an FYI.

For several years I worked as a consultant for some “Big 4″ firms who, collectively, are some of the world’s largest technical outsourcers. I managed teams of offshore talent, and I learned a lot about the best ways to mitigate issues associated with language barriers, time zone differences, and varying business styles. As an independent consultant, although the scale of the projects I manage is smaller, I continue to hire virtual assistants, freelancers, and other outsourced talent wherever it makes sense.

So, I hope reading my experiences helps you find the right VA (that’s really the only reason I’m blogging about it). Hope you find it useful. Happy hunting!

Note: Most of the other posts on this blog are directly related to the services we do offer.
