We all know how important it is to keep up with a regular blogging schedule. But where do you get inspiration for topics on those days when you’re feeling less than inspired? There are some gifted people that have ideas coming out of their ears and have no problem whatsoever putting them into a well written post in a blink of an eye. My sister, for example, can whip up an entertaining article for her company’s newsletter in 15 minutes, whereas I probably spend as much time ‘researching’ the topic for my next post!

But blogger’s block can happen to the best of us. Whatever end of the spectrum you’re on, it’s important to have sources of inspiration when blogger’s block strikes. IĀ find ideas from everyday occurrences at work, interaction with clients and coworkers, but when the creative juices are really stagnant, I dive into my Google Reader and Twitter accounts. Twitter is more valuable to me because the information is so fresh and relevant to my interests.

If you don’t think you have the time to actively update a Twitter account, I recommend still creating an account just for the purpose of “follow” otherĀ people in your industry that can provide inspiration when you’re in need. Don’t know anyone on Twitter? No problem – check out Twellow. It acts like a yellow pages for Twitter and groups users by categories. This would be a great place to begin your search for people to follow who share your interests.
